Driver dies in rollover crash at I-24/I-75 split, police say
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A driver died from a rollover crash at the I-24/I-75 split Monday night.
Chattanooga Police (CPD) say the wreck happened at 10:15 p.m. First responders found a man trapped in a car upon arrival.
CPD said a driver on I-24 Eastbound missed their exit to go to I-75 southbound and pulled to the shoulder of the interstate. They planned to change directions.
But when they tried to go toward I-75 Southbound, they pulled in front of a second car.
That caused the second car to lose control and roll-over. The driver of the second car got trapped inside.
First responders freed the man and took him to a local hospital. However, he died at the hospital from his injuries, according to police.
CPD did not give an update on the other driver’s well-being.
Authorities are still investigating and state that no charges have been filed yet.
