Driver killed after pickup truck hits trees, lands in pond on Highway 27

SODDY DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF) – A pickup truck driver was killed in a crash Thursday night on Highway 27.

The truck was heading south through the Soddy Daisy area around 9 p.m.

Tennessee troopers say the pickup left the highway into the woods, hitting several trees.

It finally came to rest in a nearby pond.

The driver, Riddgelan Pressley, was ejected from the vehicle and killed.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.

A passenger who was wearing a seatbelt was treated and released at the scene.
