CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The residual ice from Monday’s winter storm is wreaking havoc on traffic not just there but all across the Tennessee Valley.

For one local driver, Jeffery Martinez, he said quite the scene happened in front of him on I-24 east Monday at the Rossville Boulevard exit.

That’s where he says a tractor trailer spun out after likely hitting some black ice right in front of him and other motorists.

He says thankfully no one was hurt in that incident but it’s far from the only crash he has seen.

Martinez said, “Thankfully I was far enough back that I had time to brake and slow down as well as the other traffic… As I continued on through East Ridge and up I-75 northbound I witnessed three more wrecks on the road.”

Martinez pleads with drivers to take it slow until it warms up.
