Drugs Seized in Hamilton County Arrest
Deputies responded to an apartment at 2531 Cummings Highway around 11 a.m. Wednesday morning on a report of shots fired.
The dispatcher advised authorities that a male fired the weapon and was seen putting a backpack in the rear of a vehicle.
Chattanooga Police had arrived on scene first and detained Randy Williams, who was in possession of a semi-automatic handgun.
Williams’ then stated that several people had been vandalizing his girlfriend’s vehicle with a lug wrench and one of the female parties came in his direction with the lug wrench. It was then that Williams fired his gun into the air.
While investigating the incident officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from Williams’ car. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 deputies searched Williams’ vehicle and found marijuana, digital scales, several rolled marijuana joints, freezer bags and a semi automatic pistol magazine.
Williams’ vehicle was seized along with an unknown amount of cash and a handgun.
Williams was taken into custody and charged with several felonies.
