Dunkin’s Purple Pinkie donuts raise $100,000 to fight polio

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) –  A campaign by Chattanooga’s Dunkin’ stores raised $100,000 to fight polio.

The company partnered with the Tennessee Rotary Club and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for World Polio Day.

They sold Purple Pinkie donuts to raise the money.

And they presented the check today.

John Germ of the Rotary Club told us ” I think it is an excellent project and it all came from one person thinking out of the box about how can we raise some money uniquely and help the children at the same time.”

The money donated will be able to help vaccinate nearly 700,000 children.
