Dunlap Cleans Up After Flooding
Dunlap, TN (WDEF) – Multiple emergency response agencies responded to the Dunlap area Wednesday night to provide assistance and rescues in some unexpected flooding. North Dunlap and portions of the Sequatchie County flooded, causing some pretty scary conditions.
There were still multiple roads closed Thursday morning.
Officials say the business area of Dunlap wasn’t affected by the floods but neighborhoods outside the city were hit pretty hard.
“We still have some roads that are flooding. Most of them are near the Sequatchie River. The water and flooding we had near the businesses and the roads in town, that has receded,” said Randy Phillips, Dunlap Police Chief.
There are still some road closures and dangerous conditions in the area. The Sequatchie Highway Department says John Birch East and Tate Hill Roads are closed as of Thursday evening.
