Early morning apartment fire on Webb Road
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A Chattanooga Police Officer may have saved lives early this morning at an apartment fire.
The call came in just after midnight at 4114 Webb Road off Highway 58.
The officer was first on the scene and banged on doors to wake up the residents.
Flames were already shooting 20 to 30 feet in the air when the first firefighters arrives.
The building held three apartments.
And it was beginning to spread to the building next door.
When the flames were out, the triplex had suffered substantial damage.
But firefighters managed to limit the damage to the other structure to just the exterior siding and roof.
Five people were displaced by the apartment fire.
But no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
