Early Voting in Tennessee Starts Wednesday

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — If you don’t want to wait until Election Day to cast a ballot, you don’t have to.

Early voting in Tennessee starts this Wednesday, and the election commission in Bradley County is preparing for a steady turnout.

They say it’s expected for a presidential election.

“We’ve had an extra, over 2,100 people register since August wanting to vote,” said Travis Henry, Chairman of the Bradley County Election Commission. “We expect a similar turnout to ’08 though. In ’08, we had over 25,000 that voted in early voting, and a little over 12,000 that voted on the day of the election, so what we primarily do is prepare for early voting because that’s a huge thing in Tennessee, in particularly this area it’s more convenient for people.”

Don’t forget when you vote, bring a photo ID.

Early voting runs from Wednesday through November 3.

Election Day is November 8.
