Early Voting Turn-out Coming to a Close

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- We’re one day away from early voting coming to a close.

And since it began last month…people in the volunteer state are casting their ballots in recording breaking numbers.

Hamilton County election officials say as of last night, more than 60 thousand voters had come out.

They also say with numbers as high as they are now,  we will exceed the record set in 2012.

“The turnout historically during the last two days of early voting is exceeding the previous days by 20 or 30 percent. The best times to vote early at the satellite locations in downtown is prior to the lunch hour and after 4:30. However, now in the last two days of early voting those times really are not going to matter,” Kerry Steelman, who is the Administrator of Elections.
