East Ridge Burglaries

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) – East Ridge police have arrested a man they say is behind several recent burglaries.

20-year-old Desmond Powell is being charged with burglary and theft of property.

Police arrested Powell today, after they found him hiding under a semi-trailer.

They say Powell was close to where a break-in took place at the Haiku Hibachi restaurant on Ringgold Road.

When they interviewed him, investigators say Powell admitted to four other business burglaries.

Police are also seeking warrants for break-ins and thefts of the Valero and Sonny’s convenience stores, East Ridge Games and Videos, and possibly another business.
