East Ridge rescue personnel respond to outbuilding fire Wednesday morning

East Ridge, Tenn. (WDEF) – East Ridge Fire Rescue got an early morning call about a residential structure fire Wednesday morning.

At about 6:15 am, East Ridge Fire Rescue responded to 622 Layfield Rd.

Firefighters immediately began to lay lines and attack the fire in a detached outbuilding.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and report minimal damage to the main residence.

The fire is still under investigation.

Fire investigators have not yet determined the cause of the blaze.
