East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra celebrates 20th anniversary at Collegedale Independence Day event

COLLEGEDALE, Tenn.. (WDEF) — Faith and Family night has been a tradition in Collegedale for a long time, but this year is a little different.

It’s the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence but the East TN Symphony Orchestra is also celebrating its 20th birthday.

Collegedale is celebrating the occasion with a live performance by the symphony orchestra.

They’ll be accompanying tonight’s fireworks display with a special medley of patriotic songs and hymns.

Jeremy Francisco, Music Director East TN Symphony Orchestra told us, “It means to me a chance to come together. It doesn’t matter what we believe or what walks of life, but to acknowledge each other‘s ability to love and value each individual member of the community and that that’s what’s an event like this means: to come together as one and say ‘you are loved you are valued and I’m glad you’re here'”
