Elderly man injured in vehicle fire on Waldens Ridge

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — An elderly man was injured in a vehicle fire on Sunday on Signal Mountain.

The Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security (HCEMS) gave a release on the details.

It happened around 2 p.m. on March 5. Multiple people heard explosions at 6840 Sawyer Road and called 911.

HCEMS said a truck was on fire near a barn. They said firefighters contained the fire before it could spread to the barn.

Officials said the elderly man had first- and second-degree burns. HCEMS took him to a local hospital.

The Waldens Ridge Fire Department is investigating the fire.
