Embracing the Spirit of Giving
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Giving Tuesday, which falls right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, allows for the shift from consumerism to compassion. It serves as a time to support nonprofits, local charities, and community initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives.
Locally, the Chatt Foundation and Bloom Creative Summit invited the community to join in on various arts and crafts and to donate to a good cause.
The Chatt Foundation was founded to address the growing needs of Chattanooga’s vulnerable populations by providing a wide range of services. Ranging from emergency shelter and transitional housing to mental health support and workforce training, their programs provide a lifeline to those in need.
Highlighting another organization, Bloom Creative Summit is a yearly one-day conference designed to hold space for Black women and non-binary creatives by offering business and health & wellness resources to promote personal and business growth.
This day, which started back in 2012, reminds us all that we have the power to make a difference. With over 150 countries that participate globally in this day of giving, the day is expected to bring over $3.5 billion. Whether it’s a small donation or a simple act of kindness, every contribution can add up to something greater.
