Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – August 11, 2017

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga, and in nearby cities this weekend.

You have lots of choices for some great live music.

It’s not too late to head out to Miller Plaza for Chattanooga’s Nightfall Concert Series.

Friday night’s performers include Major & The Monbacks, with the local group, Ashley and the Xs, opening up for them.

The event wraps up at 10 p.m., Friday.

There’s also a summer concert series happening in Dalton.

Singer and songwriter Natalie Gelman is performing on Friday. She has even opened for Bon Jovi.

The free show is from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Courtyard at Crescent City.

On Saturday, there’s always Second Saturdays on Station Street, which is hosted by the Songbirds Foundation.

It celebrates businesses in the Southside Neighborhood, plus music, food and art.

The Power Players and The Beaters are performing Saturday.

The event is from 3 to 8 p.m. on Station Street in front of the Songbirds Guitar Museum.

You can also head to downtown Nashville to see Matchbox Twenty and the Counting Crows Saturday night for their “A Brief History of Everything Tour.”

It’s also Matchbox Twenty’s 20th anniversary.

The show starts at 6:45 p.m. at the Bridgestone Arena.

Another option is a concert with Dashboard Confessional and All American Rejects at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater.

You can hear new music from Dashboard for the first time since 2009.

The show starts at 7 p.m.
