Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – October 21, 2017
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga, and in nearby cities this weekend.
Take advantage of the beautiful fall weather by heading to the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show.
It’s great flying conditions for the various talented performers, including the Blue Angels, who are appearing at this air show for the first time.
Organizers say this event is also a great way to recognize our military veterans, and those currently serving.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Russell Regional Airport in Rome, Georgia.
The Blue Angels perform at 3 p.m. both days.

Who doesn’t love pets? But pets wearing costumes? Even better.
The Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga is hosting its 15th annual Paws in the Park on Saturday.
It’s a fundraiser for the non-profit, helping the animals at the shelter.
You can walk your pet along the river, or the Humane Society will let you walk one of their shelter pets if you don’t have an animal of your own.
There will also be a dog and human costume contest, and trick or treating with your dog, along with food trucks and vendors.
Registration starts at 10 a.m., Saturday, with the walk starting at 11 a.m.
Lake Winnie is turning spooky for Halloween.
You can celebrate the holiday before October 31 there at Lake WinnepeSPOOKa.
Organizers say it’ll scare the “yell” out of you, with more than 40 haunted rides, eerie edibles, magic shows, and a Thriller Parade.
Halloween activities are happening from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday, and 5 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
This special event is taking place through Sunday, October 29.
It’s fall, so why not take advantage of the beautiful fall foliage here in the Tennessee Valley?
You can do just that, and be a leaf peeper on-board the Southern Belle Riverboat Cruise.
The fall foliage cruises are being offered almost every day this month.
The three-hour-long trip along the Tennessee River gives you great views of the leaves changing color.
There’s also food, live entertainment, and a narration of the historical sites along the river.
There are trips at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
