Eric Marcotte Wins USA Cycling National Championship in Chattanooga

Chattanooga-(WDEF) Eric Marcotte was the road race winner on Monday in the USA Cycling National Championships in Chattanooga. Marcotte won in a photo finish. Marcotte covered the 102-mile road course in 4 hours and 17 minutes. The race featured four climbs of Lookout Mountain. One of the race favorites crashed on Lookout Mountain. Taylor Phinney, who won the time trials on Saturday, crashed while going down Lookout Mountain. He underwent surgery for a broken leg and a knee injury. On the women’s side, Alison Powers was the champion. She also won the time trials on Saturday.
