Ex High School Baseball Coach Charged with Threatening an Entire Restaurant

Winchester, TN (WDEF) –  A former Coffee County baseball coach was arrested in Hamilton County this weekend.

Investigators in Franklin County had been looking for Brad Weir for a domestic incident at the Bluegill Grill on Tims Ford Lake on May 3rd.

They say he got into a fight with his ex-girlfriend’s husband.

The incident report says Weir then told people he had assault rifles in his car and he would kill the ex-girlfriend, her husband and everyone in the restaurant.

But that isn’t his only pending court case.

In January, police in Manchester charged the teacher with statutory rape by an authority figure of a 15 year old girl.

Weir was in his first year as a teacher at Coffee County Raider Academy after being hired as the baseball coach last May at the high school.

He also was baseball coach at Dade County High in 2013, but resigned abruptly after one game for health reasons.

Weir also served a year as an assistant coach at LFO more than a decade ago.

He has been released after serving 12 hours in Hamilton county, but the Coffee County D-A wants to revoke his bond.
