Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan Seeks Rare Success Against Arizona
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) – Matt Ryan has to cringe when remembering his most recent games against Arizona’s defense.
In seven seasons as the Atlanta quarterback, Ryan has thrown more than three interceptions in a game only twice – his last two games against the Cardinals. In those games, Ryan threw a combined nine interceptions with only one touchdown.
Ryan managed a painful smile on Wednesday when he sarcastically thanked a reporter for reminding him of the ugly interception totals against Arizona. The Falcons somehow split those two games, beating Arizona two years ago in Atlanta despite his career-high five interceptions.
The Cardinals visit Atlanta on Sunday in an unlikely pairing of first-place teams.
