Fall victim update
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – A TVA contract maintenance worker who fell 20 feet into a concrete trench on Monday passed away.
Chattanooga Fire officials say the victim was 63-year-old Edward Morgan.
Witnesses told the investigator that Morgan was trying to slide a metal grate from the wall to paint the building.
They said he pulled it too far causing it to fall into the culvert.
His fingers were also stuck in the grate causing him to fall too.
Morgan was critically injured, and later died from his injuries at Erlanger.
The investigation is pending the Medical Examiner’s report.
Tennessee OSHA is also investigating.
Morgan worked for Total Building Maintenance.
