Family identifies Whitwell couple killed in Marion County crash

MARION COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Marion County that happened over the weekend.

The family of a couple who passed away in the crash reached out to News 12 to provide information on the incident.

We have contacted THP, who confirmed they are investigating the crash. However, they have not provided any details at this time.

The family said the crash happened Sunday on Highway 108 on Whitwell Mountain.

Family members identified the couple as Dwight and Barbara Vandergriff.

Their funeral services will take place this week in Whitwell.
