Family Justice Center discusses future
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The Hamilton County Chattanooga Family Justice Center discussed their future plans with local judges and law enforcement during a seminar on Friday.
They are an organization that provides legal and therapeutic services specialized for those who have experienced domestic violence and other crimes.
The Family Justice Center says that not only do they work to meet the needs for adult survivors, but also children survivors as well.
The Chattanooga location is located near Eastgate Mall.
They have been helping local families from their current location for almost a decade.
While the center has helped nearly 14,000 people within the past year, the center believes they can enhance their healthcare services to help victims stay safe and healthy after suffering abuse.
Looking to their future, Regina McDevitt, the Executive Director 0f the family justice system says, “One of the things we want to do in our future as we begin to work with that (healthcare) particular task force, to be able to provide screenings, assessments, and we want to make sure that healthcare in our community is screening people for domestic violence.”
All services at the Family Justice Center are free and your information will be kept confidential.
