Family member arrested for double murder on Sand Mountain
PISGAH, Alabama (WDEF) – Jackson County investigators have charged a man in a double murder over the weekend on Sand Mountain in Alabama.
It happened at a home on County Road 354 in Pisgah Saturday afternoon.
Deputies found 68 year old Horace “Bimbo” Garren and 44 year old Christophern Horace Garren shot to death in the back yard.
They say a suspect fled the scene but was spotted by a DeKalb County helicopter in a wooded area some distance from the crime scene.
They arrested 33 year old Matthew Edward Garren and charged him with murder.
The suspect also had two outstanding traffic charges.
Officials say the suspect and the victims are related, but did not say exactly how.
