Family Promise’s Food Truck and Fun Fest

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Today is World Homeless Day and Family Promise used the day to raise money and awareness.

The organization hosted their Food Truck and Fun Fest.

Family promise helps homeless families with children and families that are near homeless.

Organizers of today’s event says that days like today help raise awareness to how close some people are to being in a crisis.

Jackie Clay, Executive Director of Family Promise, says, “To raise awareness, to give people the opportunity to get involved and become part of the solution and to understand that our neighbors might be struggling. But, they have the same desires as us. They want a safe place to sleep at night. They want a warm bed for their kids. They want to keep thier lights on and their family fed and we can help them do that.”

Family Promise has helped more than 400 families.
