Fatal Bush Hog accident in Middle Valley

Hamilton County deputies responded to a serious accident at a a residence on Middle Valley Road around 10 a.m.

They found 70-year-old Thomas Ables unresponsvie under the tractor.

The tractor and bush hog had overturned while he was mowing the side of a hill.

Detectives say it was most likely a tragic accident.

Ables’ body was taken to the medical examiner’s office to determine the exact cause of death.

Sheriff Jim Hammond reminds people to be careful mowing because even familiar ground can shift with temperature changes and moisture.
