Fatal Shooting at Cleveland Apartment Complex

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – News 12 has now learned the name of the man killed in early morning shooting in Bradley County.
Cleveland Police responded to a shooting that left 18-year-old Adam Johnson dead and sent a juvenile to the hospital.

“Officers responded here pretty quickly and were encountered with chaos and people all around. Investigators came on scene here, we have our crime scene technicians as well. They came to the scene, they collected all of the evidence. They took photographs and right now just processing the information, said Public Information Officer, Evie West.

Authorities said they spoke with people  in the area who may have seen or might know anything about the deadly shooting.

“Taking witness statements, talking to anybody that was around victims, suspects, and going from there. They’re trying to find out what happened.”

Springbrook Apartments is just two minutes away from the Bradley County Justice Center.

The complex is no stranger to violence.

Crystal Canino and Crystal York were both stabbed to death in one the units in April.

A third person, Anthony Beck, was also injured.

Despite the violent history, West said while law enforcement does receive medium to high call volumes to the complex, she does not considered the area “unsafe.”

“Police were here and we patrol this area a lot, we do extra patrol here and we do saturations. We’re heavy patrolling this area, but I mean I guess when you have people who have a different agenda, I mean any place can be unsafe.”
Authorities are processing the information they collected and talking to witnesses.

There is no suspect information available at this time.

We will update you as this story continues to develop.
