Father and son recovering after rescue at Fall Creek Falls
FALL CREEK FALLS, Tennessee (WDEF) – A father and son are recovering after a tumble at Fall Creek Falls on Sunday.
They fell down an embankment on the Paw Paw Trail around noon.
It took a host of rescuers to get them back to safety.
Park rangers got to them quickly, but it took a rope team to get them back up.
The rope rescue took two and a half hours.
The rescuers came from the Piney Volunteer firefighters, Fall Creek Falls Firefighters, Van Buren, White County, Spencer, Dunlap, and Pikeville personell.
The sister of the father posted thanks to all of them.
She said “They are both stable and recovering.”
