Fight at Brainerd basketball game results in teen tased

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Police Department said a fight broke out at Brainerd High School Thursday night. The fight occurred around 9 p.m. at a Brainerd versus Tyner basketball game.

A group of girls were fighting, and police said they attempted to break it up. They said the girls continued to fight despite their commands to stop.

A Chattanooga Police officer deployed his taser on one of the girls. He said she was aggressing toward another individual.

After tasing her, the officer detained the girl.

Chattanooga Police said the girl was a 16-year-old.

Police said after the taser was deployed, the others quickly fled the scene. The CPD was unable to locate the others involved.

The officers turned the teen over to her mother. However, police are still investigating the criminal behavior.

They are attempting to find the others who were involved.

The CPD said, “charges are pending further investigation.”
