Fire crews extinguish blaze in FedEx box truck on I-75 near Ooltewah

 

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Crews with the Tri-Community Fire Department (TCFD) put out a fire on a FedEx truck in Ooltewah Wednesday morning.

On September 24, 2025, at 10:27 a.m., crews were dispatched to the fire on I-75 Northbound near the Ooltewah ramp.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from a FedEx box truck.

According to the TCFD, crews deployed a line and quickly began fire suppression until another engine arrived on scene to assist.

TDOT and officers with the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) also responded to assist.

The TCFD said fire was put out within 10 minutes of the initial report.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

No injuries were reported during this incident.
