Fire damages Birchwood home under renovations

BIRCHWOOD, Tenn. (WDEF)- A home in the Birchwood area went up in flames Wednesday evening.
Just before 6 p.m. first responders got a call of a residential fire.
That fire was at the 9700 block of Birchwood Pike.
When firefighters from the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene, they noticed heavy smoke pouring out of the home.
The fire was located in the kitchen and caused heavy smoke and fire damage to the entire house.
No one was home at the time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation,
however the home was undergoing renovations.
