Fire Damages West Rock Facility

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire at a company that sorts recyclable material early Thursday morning.

It happened at West Rock. Firefighters say they could see smoke when they got to the scene.

The fire was in an area around a conveyor belt.

It was contained in 30 minutes, and the building was cleared of smoke.

Investigators say the fire was unintentional, and the exact cause is under investigation.

Damages are estimated at $45,000.
