UPDATES:

June 3, 2024

A GoFundMe is attempting to raise funds for the Ooltewah family who lost their home in a fire on Friday.

The page explained that the homeowners were at the hospital at the time of the fire. They received a call from a neighbor telling them the tragic news.

The GoFundMe states the couple lost everything in the house except a safe and a few documents. It also said they had no home insurance.

As of Monday afternoon, June 3, it had raised more than $8,000.

Read the full statement:

“On May 31, while my sister Cindy Favors was at the hospital with her husband, Patrick, who had back surgery yesterday, May 30th, she received a call from a neighbor informing her that her house was on fire.

Tragically, Cindy and Patrick lost everything in their house except a safe and a few other documents. With no home insurance, they face the uncertainty of how to rebuild their lives.

While this GoFundMe is not enough to cover the cost of a new home, we hope the funds donated will help them navigate the first steps of rebuilding their lives following this devastating fire and during this difficult time of recovery for Patrick.

Please consider donating to this fund. Any amount, no matter how small will make a tremendous difference. Or If you prefer to donate through other fund sharing apps rather than through GoFundMe, please contact me at [email redacted]. Share this story with your friends and family to help reach more kind-hearted individuals. We also ask for your prayers as they process this loss and for all their needs to be met.”
