First Baptist Church hosts mental health summit to launch new program

First Baptist Church held their inaugural Mental Health Summit today.

This summit was a kick-off event for First Baptist’s expansion of mental health services for those in need

Local Professionals came to speak and answer questions on matters of therapy and healthy mental habits. Questions ranged from raising kids and parent – child relationships to self-harm and anxiety.

Managing  Consultant of First Baptist’s Mental Health Initiative, Marissa Player-Montgomery wants the community to know they’re there to help,”If I had to say anything, a good takeaway from this would be that we’re here to help. Trauma is real. Feeling anxiety and depression and all of that is normal. There’s no stigma behind it, we need help and we’re here to help.”

You can contact First Baptist Church to learn more about their mental health services.
