First Female to Earn Eagle Scout Honors in Hamilton County

Rowan Olivia Kologek from Boy Scout Troop 11-16 was chosen for her Eagle Scout project. Rowan will be the first woman in Hamilton County to earn her Eagle Scout honors. Her project is the creation of an Insect Hotel and Host Garden which will be displayed at the Audubon Acres Visitor’s Center.

When asked about becoming the first female Eagle Scout—Rowan says that it represents a big step for equality. Rowan said, “Other minorities such as myself are very important to our world and they can make such a difference. And we’re so strong and important, and we can do hard things.”

The Chattanooga Audubon Society hosts various outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking and hiking.
