Rock Spring, GA (WDEF) – Saddle Ridge Elementary School played home to a fierce Lego robotics competition Saturday.
The First Lego League challenge pits more than 233,000 kids from more than 80 countries against one another.
The kids program the robots and then are judged on how well the robot completes its task.
Saturday’s competition was a qualifying event, eventually leading to the national competition.
TVA is one of the largest local sponsors in the First Lego League competition.
Fred Sumrall works as a TVA Project Manager.  He was at Saturday’s event.  He said, "The kids are judged on how well they execute the programs they put in the robots, as well as other core values and understanding of the teamwork and programming itself."
