Flash Flooding Tuesday Morning in Chattanooga
The heavy rains started falling in Chattanooga around 2:00 this morning.
And it didn’t take long for the water to start ponding on the roadways.
Around 3:30am, problems popped up at the Interstate 24 on and off ramps at Cummings Highway.
The driver of a car tried to get off the Interstate when he got stuck in about three to four feet of water.
He didn’t want to go on camera but says he never saw it coming as he was getting off the interstate.
Luckily he was not hurt and the water is starting to recede.
We also have reports of a police cruiser getting stuck in flash flooding on 11th Street…
And a tree blocking the road near Valley Brook Road and the "S" curves.
