Food Lion and Lee University team up to make sure no student goes hungry

Cleveland, TN (WDEF) – Food Lion and Lee University team up to make sure all students have healthy food options, including proteins.
Through the Food Lion Feed Great Pantry Makeover, the Leonard Center Food Pantry at Lee University now has 35 cases of protein dense foods like meatballs and chicken breasts.
Benny Smith works as the Food Lion media manager, "Instead of painting and doing those kind of things, what we did is we gave them the money for new freezers, which they will get next week and we went ahead and stocked, fully stocked, the older freezers that they had."
Tyler Shores of Lee University explained, "The goal of this it to serve as a hub to supply student-lead service organizations that are connected to Lee who are meeting needs out in the community."
Food Lion is also donating four new freezers and a new cooler.
