Former Baylor coach Phil Massey hired at CCS
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Christian will be the new home for Baylor’s former coach Phil Massey.
Massey coached the Red Raiders 16 years.
“I know last year when we played, they had a lot of sophomores that played, and I think just looking at the youth and just continuing the growth and the progress with those guys brings excitement to me,” Massey said.
Chargers Athletic Director Daniel Russell says hiring Massey was a no-brainer. From his success at Baylor to his relationships with students, Massey fit exactly what CCS was looking for.
“The gas pedal has been pushed down pretty hard by the staff that’s come before him, and we’re just really looking forward to what he can do with that,” Russell said.
