Former Brainerd Star Venus Lacy Going Into Louisiana Hall of Fame

Former Brainerd basketball star Venus Lacy will be inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame this month. She’s scheduled to go in on June 21st. Lacy was a force on the Louisiana Tech basketball team. She won a national title in 1988. Lacy is still the school’s all time leader in scoring average. She averaged 20 points a game for her career. Lacy was also a member of the U.S. Women’s Olympic team that won a gold medal in 1996.
