Former Ellijay Burger King Employee Courtney Morgalo Bonded Out But Faces Multiple Drug Charges

ELLIJAY, GA, (WDEF)-Accused of selling more than a whopper meal, 20 year old Courtney Morgalo of Roy Road in Ellijay could spend years behind bars.

Captain Frank Copeland, Gilmer County Sheriff’s Department,"5 grams of methamphetamine, some jeweler’s bags which are commonly used to package goods for sale and they also some empty bags, some scales".

Copeland confirmed that when Morgalo was questioned while at work in this Burger King in East Ellijay she also had Xanax pills in her pockets.

"The investigation indicates that she was just using her opportunity there to make the sales".

The majority of Ellijay residents we spoke to said they will not turn their back on Burger King despite this controversy.

John Kirkland, Ellijay, GA"Could of got more than burger yea really but I dont’ want nothing else I don’t take no kind of drugs myself".

The Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force led the investigation after anonymously been given Morgalo’s first name and a description of her car and place of work.

Commander Brandon Owens,"We also found that Miss Morgalo was on active  probation through Appalachian pre-trial probation in Ellijay and that she had a fourth amendment waiver".

Morgalo faces  charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute.
