Free “Baby in the Back” Car Hangtags from Secretary of State Combat Heat-Related Child Deaths
As temperatures continue to rise this summer, parents here in the Volunteer State are reminded of a way they can keep their kids safe in cars.
Secretary of State Tre Hargett reminds Tennessee parents and caregivers about the Baby in the Back car hang tag program.
He says the hang tags are a part of broader efforts to educate and promote responsible parenting during the hot summer months.
“The temperature may be in the 90’s outside but in about 30 mins the temperature in the hot car can get over 140 degrees.” We want people to really see how hot that car can get and the impact it has on the health of the person sitting in the car,” said Tre Hargett.
The “Baby in the Back” car hangtags are free of charge and are available on the Tennessee Secretary of State’s website.
