FreightWaves revolutionizing trucking, bringing new jobs to Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A new way to do business in the trucking industry is starting right here in Chattanooga.
FreightWaves expects to bring 300 jobs to Chattanooga in the next two and a half years with the launch of its trucking freight futures program.
FreightWaves expects this futures marketplace to revolutionize the trucking industry.
The new program will allow trucking and logistics companies to trade freight moving costs, helping alleviate some risk.
70 percent of freight movement in the United States is by truck. It’s a $726 million industry, and FreightWaves CEO Craig Fuller believes it will have great impacts on the scenic city.
FreightWaves Founder Craig Fuller told us “This is going to be a massively important venture for Chattanooga and for the US trucking industry. And much like you see where the New York Stock Exchange is based in New York and Wall Street is really built out, Chicago is where a lot of the commodities are, we think we can also have an influence of Chattanooga’s economy by becoming the center of a very important part of our industry.”
Futures launches March 29.
FreightWaves is looking to fill numerous high paying jobs. You can find those openings on their website, freightwaves.com.
