GBI will investigate fatal shooting of suspect in Catoosa County

RINGGOLD, Georgia (WDEF) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into a deadly officer involved shooting in Catoosa County.

On Saturday, dispatch received a suspicious phone call.

Catoosa County deputies responded to a home on Alabama Highway in Ringgold.

Deputies tried to a arrest a man named Fred Trundle who lives there.

Authorities say Trundle pointed a shotgun at law enforcement, and a deputy shot him, killing him.

No deputies were hurt.
