Georgia-Auburn Football Rivalry Getting New Date Thus Pushing Back the Dawgs-Vols Game

The Georgia-Auburn football rivalry will get a new date.
University of Georgia president Jere Morehead announced Wednesday the game will move to either September or October in the year 2020.

The Deep South’s oldest rivalry has been played in November each time the two schools have played since 1937.

It seems the Tigers are pushing for the move.

They wanted to break up their late November schedule, which includes road trips to both Athens and Tuscaloosa in the same season during the even numbered years.

Since 2012, Auburn is a combined 0-8 against the Dawgs and Tide during those even numbered years when they visit Athens and T-town.

Morehead added that the Georgia-Tennessee game will also get a new later date in the season. The Dawgs and Vols normally play in late September or early October.
