Georgia Calls for Special Election to Replace Marjorie Taylor Greene

The state of Georgia has called for a special election to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene in Congress.

She resigned her seat on January 5th.

The election dates are March 10 with a runoff on April 7.

This will be the first of two elections for the Northwest Georgia seat this year.

The special election picks someone to hold the office for the rest of this year.

Then there will be the regular two year election in November.

“The dates and hours of qualifying will be Monday, January 12, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday, January 14, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m.”

The qualifying fee is $5,220.00.

“Monday, February 9, 2026, is the last day to register to vote for all persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to vote in the Special Election.  Advance in-person absentee voting will begin on Monday, February 16, 2026.”
