Georgia opts in for education scholarship tax credits

ATLANTA (WDEF) – Geogia is opting in on a federal tax credit for non-profits.

The deal is if you donate to an organization that gives out scholarships to children, you can qualify for the tax credit.

It is a dollar-for- dollar credit up to 17-hundred per taxpayer.

Governor Brian Kemp announced the state’s participation on Tuesday.

The tax credit was originally passed as part of the President’s Big Beautiful Bill.
