Georgia showing tourists what they can do here

CATOOSA COUNTY, Georgia (WDEF) – “Welcome to’s what you can do here!”

That’s the message drivers on I-75 got today at the welcome center.

The program is called “Georgia on my Mind.”

It allows local communities and current tourism partners to set-up at the welcome center, and greet travelers entering the state.

“We have people come in and say, ‘We don’t really know where we’re going. Where should we go?’ So, we start from there and give them, uh, they could go on a hike, they could go eat here, we give them an itinerary, basically, we also give out directions to anywhere throughout the state that they’re going, give out maps and travel guides with information, so we pretty much just um, get them to spend more money in Georgia.”

This welcome center near Ringgold had representatives from Georgia state parks, the Chamber of Commerce, and other GROUPS in North Georgia.
