Red Cross gives gift cards to blood donors in March

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The American Red Cross is asking the public to donate blood this spring. Those who do will receive a $10 gift card and be entered into a drawing for a $3,000 gift card.

Red Cross said in a press release, “Blood and platelets remain at risk of running low this month. Donors are crucial to helping the Red Cross avoid a blood shortage in the weeks to come.”

Anyone who donates in March will receive a $10 Visa Prepaid Card by email. They will also be entered for a chance to win a $3,000 Visa Prepaid Card.

The Red Cross says five people will win the $3,000 card.

Next Thursday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., the Southeast American Red Cross will host a blood drive on 4115 S Access Road.

Red Cross says all blood types are accepted. They are especially urging those with type O, as well as platelet donors, to make an appointment.

Donors can make an appointment at RedCrossBlood.org, by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
