Girls Inc. of Chattanooga Celebrates Grand Opening of New Boutique with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Girls Inc. of Chattanooga held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house to unveil their brand-new boutique.
This boutique provides girls and their families the chance to browse and select new and gently used clothing, shoes, and jewelry—at no cost.
“Once they leave here, they go home, and we wanted to make sure we were focusing on what they needed, including ensuring their mental health was stable. We started with just metal closets that had items families could shop from, but we’ve been blessed to turn this into a full resource center, and that’s where we are today,” said Aaliyah Parrish, Coordinator for the Family Resource Center. The boutique is stocked with gently used donations and new items, all provided by community members and supporters. It’s an opportunity to ensure that every girl feels good about herself.
“Behind every smart, strong, and bold girl must be an equally strong family and support system, and that’s why we are here today. We want to ensure that while our girls are focusing academically and our program coordinators are helping with their mental health, we are also addressing the other needs they have. The Family Resource Center, boutique, workshops, and directory are all means to support every dimension of their well-being,” said Toccora Johnson, CEO of Girls Inc. Chattanooga.
