Dalton GNTC receives CDL truck program investment

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has announced an investment into the Georgia Northwest Technical College campus in Dalton.

$5.5 million will be invested to build a new CDL training pad at the campus.

Gov. Kemp said this investment will help maximize the growth of the logistics industry in Northwest Georgia, taking advantage of Dalton’s location on I-75.

He said, “Just trying to get more capacity, trying to get more drivers, and it made sense for us to get a program up in the northwest part of the state. If you really look at the economic development announcements we’ve had, that corridor is growing like crazy.”

This program will join the trucking program that is currently offered by GNTC at their Rock Spring campus in Walker County.
